Hello Dr. Dakhil! We will begin our chat shortly.
Dr. Dakhil, I mentioned how we live in a "cancer cluster" right now. Can you explain how the midwest is a cluster for lymphoma?
Hello @carolejg1-- I haven't heard that about Barton County. KDHE doesn't typically say what areas it has investigated as a cancer cluster.
Answer to Melissa: Study done by KU showed higher incidence of Lymphoma in agricultural states including KS and this was due most likely to herbiscide and pesticides
Radon: has been clearly linked to higher incidence of lung cancer
@ccallahan... KDHE told me they don't know of the last time they had one classified as a cancer cluster.
There a lot of cancer clusters suspected, but none has identified that I know of
Sorry guys, I playing catch-up and doing the show. The doctor and I will get to you as soon as we can.
@Gail KDHE is concerned with the privacy of those in the study. I asked the same question too.
Those of you with personal cancer links to this story, please email me your information firstname.lastname@example.org
@elisa KDHE determines if it's a cancer cluster
thanks @ccallahan I have questioned the radon levels as well. Apparently, Kansas has some of the highest levels in the country.
the real problem is not identifing but pinpointing the cause
There are radon detectors for your home and radon mitigation systems.
there is a state cancer registry which identifies all cancer in the state
@Leanne John's wife told me he painted in the summer. I'm happy your father is doing well. What kind of cancer did he have?
Dr. Dahkil: Can you talk about the odds of people getting cancer?
